a great trick for removing the breather box crud is to use WD-40 it was originally a solvent and works pretty well on surfaces that you don't whant damaged....I used brake/carb cleaner to do mine....you will most likely find that the stuff in the box is nearly impossible to dislodge....i eventally got it...overnight full of brake cleaner solvent and a generous dose of stabbing with a coat hanger...I recomend replacing the box...it seems pricey for what it is, but believe me it is worth it....i ended up replacing mine 6 months later....don't forget the oring or it will cause a leak that will drip along the rear of the block and onto the exhaust downpipe...I put a bit of RTV on the oring too....not only to seal it, but to help hold it in place while i fumbled around getting it all back togehter...I would replace the hoses too. you don't necessarily have to use the molded oem type, although the job looks neater....i used heater hose....much cheaper and since nothing else on my car looks neat or pretty who really cares?
