I've solved my driver's side headlamp connector problem...for now anyway. With the headlamp removed from the connector, I could see that the contacts were deformed in one of 3 contact points in the connedtor. Rather than replace the connector by cutting it off and soldering on a new one, I made a mini-loop (a couple of ovals worth, 1/4" long) from a single strand of copper wire and pushed it in the bad contact hole, hoping it would make contact with what is left of the deformed contact. I lucked out, because when I pushed the headlamp back into this connector, it now works with full brightness. I can wiggle that assembly now, and it doesn't go dim/bright/dim anymore. Worth a try on yours?
