940 electric fans on 240

As far as the mileage, I just got back from a 2500 mi trip to FLA and best tank was 30.5 mpg, and that is with '91 245 e-fan, 16V injectors, VX cam, and 2 1/2 exhaust. All that being said, the car got 30 mpg before I did all that.

Since you 240 is an 87, it probably doesn't have a freon pressure switch to turn on the fan on w/A/C. I would find some way to replicate the switch when using A/C and add the front mouned aux fan if additional cooling with A/C is all you need.
