Who says it has to "mean" anything??? I have dreams involving weird cars every now and again. Some of them are Volvos---last night I was at a local Volvo dealer asking if anyone had traded in any RWD wagons lately (a clear reference to my search for a replacement for my 88 745 I wrecked a few weeks ago) but the only thing they could come up with was a circa 1970 cabover diesel truck (yes, it was a Volvo) with a cherrypicker, with damage to the back where a tree had fallen on it. the suggestion was that it would not be difficult to convert it to a box truck.........
Others have involved finding things such as a Talbot Lago or Mercedes 540K in a junkyard, and then being unable to locate my camera.
Once in a while a certain bright blue 1970 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe (that I owned about 25 years ago) will put in an appearance, usually with even more rust than it had the previous time, but sometimes freshly painted, over a thick layer of Bondo. The thing is, it always starts right up, and takes me where I want to go, or at least out of a tricky/unpleasant situation.
It is as if the subconscious takes all of ones memories of the past, and puts them in a blender, along with movies one has seen, TV shows, books one has read etc., and plays back the results to you while you sleep. Don't make too much of it. Some people have the ability to influence or control what is happening in their dreams. This is called lucid dreaming, and can be a lot of fun if you are one of the ones who can do it. I can only make it work very occasionally. Usually I wake up if I try too hard, and then have trouble going back to sleep.
