I only continue to bring up the manifold leak because it is something that has fooled me more than once. Even as recently as last week. The car starts running rough, poor mileage, and will appear to have one bad cylinder firing. I go through all the drills of timing, carb adjustment, valve adjustment etc. and ultimately it turns out to be the stinking manifold nuts again!

For some reason, I just can't get those nuts to stay tight.
