I was dealing with crankcase pressure in a recently acquired 93 245 with badly leaking engine seals. The previous owner did his own maintenance and didn't know there was a flame trap. After replacing the flame trap,I removed the oil separator and tried to clean some of the gunk out of it and reinstalled it - no improvement in crankcase vacuum at idle. After doing some archive checking here, I decided to replace the oil separator with a new one - guess what - vacuum at idle. Was it just the new O-ring at the bottom of the oil separator that did the trick? - who knows.
