Didja check the start inhibitor switch in the shifter? The circuit is pretty simple: Ignition switch to start inhibitor switch to starter solenoid. A test light or DMM should make a quick diagnosis. Do you have a wiring diagram?... I do at home... and can look up the wire colors if you need them.
