fuel pump problem 700 1990

My 740 has been sitting idle for about 4 yrs. I'm trying to get it to start but to no avail. It gets spark, but I think the fuel pump is dead. How do I tell, I don't know if I will hear it running. I removed the fuel line at the fuel injector distribution port and there was a small amount of gas here, but when I try to start, no fuel is seen exiting the fuel line.
