I just posted how I fixed an intermittent start problem on my 1989 240. Turned out to be bad connections where the wire from the fuel pump/fuel sender wires pass through the top of the in-tank assembly. Sometimes it would start, sometimes (mainly on foggy/wet mornings) it wouldn't. I think I finally have it licked, now :-)
