I will try your suggestions. Thank You.

Another detail to know is that at idle with engine running and all electrics off the 'amp' light pulses in brightness.

I also have a CRANE multi-spark discharge ignition box along with the CRANE PS91 high powered coil. Not sure how much load those might put on the system but though it would be worth mentioning.
