142 cams 140-160

IPD is reselling the ISky VV-71 (IIRC) as their street perf cam, along with Isky lifters and pushrods (cheaper if you buy from isky, but don't tell IPD I said that). It's a pretty nice cam, but it's a sort of 'vintage' perf cam. With a clear tradeoff in low rpm tractability for the high end power. I'm using the step above it (Isky VV-81) in my motor. With lots of supporting mods, it starts pulling well at 3200 and screams all the way up to 7000 rpm. It feels weak under that rpm, but probably only in comparison, I figure it's still probably got more oomph than the stock motor did down low.

There are a couple of places that might have more modern cam lobe shapes, that offer less of a tradeoff in low rpm torque. But I have no direct experience with them. When I stuck the PV's motor together, I tried to get a KG-18 from KgTrimning (www.kgtrimning.com in Sweden) but they were out and didn't expect to get any in for a long while. John Parker (www.v-performance.com) also makes performance cams that (from what I gather) use a more modern deisgn philosophy.

The Isky cams (bought directly from Isky) do have the advantage of being cheaper, though.
