I had a really bad vacuum leak that would stop me in my tracks if I applied any throttle at speeds of 45mph or over. The car would simply shudder until I reached 35 and then it would accelerate again.

Replace all your vacuum hoses and flame trap. All of those things on my car looked fine, but replacement changed things dramatically!
