The differences between the 25 and 27 prevent the 27 from being a direct swap spare. Some dis-/reassembly required.
Basics:
Tranny fluid level correct.
Speed of auto at least 25mph.
If the OD after rebuild does not engage with the solenoid clicking**, what is different between the setup on the test system and your auto?
** Are you sure you are hearing the solenoid and not a relay in the actuation circuit??
To be sure the solenoid is receiving power, Engine OFF, ignition ON, in 4th gear with actuating circuit ON, under auto remove and add the solenoid feed wire from the solenoid. If solenoid does not click, your 4th gear switch needs to be replaced. If clicks, then see below.
If nothing different, basics met, and all you did was attach the tranny and driveshaft, the rebuilder needs to find the cause and help with the removal and reinstall.
