Startup issue 200 1990

Shame on me, Tony is right. I forget that the 25 amp fuse near the battery doesn't disappear until 91. That should be your first check always. I don't find them intermittent though, personally. Seems unless they are at least touched, once they get filthy, they are down for the count. That said, the CPS is still a prime suspect. Some years ago the only way I was able to finally identify it as a culprit in an intermittent problem was to stretch out on top of the engine bay while my wife drove the car around a big, empty parking lot at a couple MPH. Something about the engine being under load--angle of the wire--whatever! Not that I recommend the practice, of course.
