Advice on where to start 444-544 1956

I'll throw some more stuff to bring into the mix.
Brake fluid
Flashlight
Crocus cloth or fine sandpaper
A floor jack and some jackstands and some scrap plywood
An outboard motor tank with fresh clean gasoline in it and 15 ft long hose. This way you know you've got a good source of clean fuel.
A manual if possible on the vehicle. (Yeah, sure...)
