I just picked up an '89 240 GL and the trim clips are popped on the driver's side. I'm seriously leaning toward getting a new style windshield when the bank account allows. In the meantime, can I just take up the old aluminum trim? I'd like to take a look under it for any signs of rust...and clean the leafy material that got stuck under there. Would I increase any leak risk by removing the old and driving with it bare for a while?
