b18 spec question 120-130

Recycle. If they are trimetal bearings, stick them back in again. If the fiber gear is OK, reuse it. I'd buy a headgasket, rings, reuse the sump gasket & manifold gaskets, get rid of the front & rear cover gaskets & just buy the front & rear lip seals from a bearing shop. Spend the minimum on this so you can spend more on the good engine. Have a look in the oil pump, with a bit of luck it will need just a new stock spring.

Cam: Ask Isky to grind you a VV-71 again on the inlet, but get a VV-81 on the exhaust. Stock exhaust ports typically flow only about 60% of the inlet, so they really need a dual pattern until you install larger exhaust valves, especially if it's high compression. 220-230°@.050" is the maximum you want to use with twin SU's. When you go to one throat/cylinder, you can then use 240°-260°@.050" easily.
