I have an 89 740&for about 7 mos.had all kinds of probs, w/it.Turned out to be the base of the coil had gone bad.Got a generic one for $89.
Also bad insulation at diff,places where the wires went through the fuel sender to the tank.
Lots of grnds needed to be cleaned in all corners,GREAT CAR WHEN THOSE THINGS ARE FIXED.
