Looks like good ideas.
What is the deal with these OHC parts whose nuts/studs sieze together?
We NEVER had that problem on the oldtimers, or only extremely rarely!
There are several "nutcracker" tools made that press a chisel-like blade into the flat
of a hex nut, allowing it to be opened up to loosen it. The ones I have used work OK
but are usually kind of big and awkward.
I think I'd use a Dremel tool with #409 cutoff disks and shave the side off the nut.
