If all of that's true, which I'm sure it is, then I can't imagine why the weensy little 10 amp fuse that allows power to my copilot light didn't pop when the + wire became grounded. Instead, it melted all the insulation away from the choke cable (source of ground) and filled the car with stinky smoke. Wouldn't that have been an excellent opportunity for a fuse to do what fuses are supposed to do?
The fuse is still fine, and the bulb is still fine. How is this possible?
