You should probably check your ignition timing. If it is not advanced enough it will make
the engine run hot.
Should be probably 15° BTDC at idle and advance to about 35° at speed.
If it is not advanced far enough, in addition to making the engine run hot, it will also
make the exhaust VERY hot and reduce the power substantially.
