I fear that you will look for a very long time for a 20 year old car with under 150k miles.
The later models were not so prone to rust, but I would still suggest watching Craig's list in the southwest (dry areas of Texas, Arizona, California) for a car that old to avoid rust problems.
For $8k, that wagon had better be really pristine. There are a few nice clean bricks around for fair prices, but there are more clunkers with very optimistic prices on them.
I have been shopping for a 7-8 year old BMW wagon to replace my '91 245, and have been noticing that a lot of people do not take as good care of their vehicles as Bricksters do. Many of the BMWs I have looked at with 1/3 the miles and years are not in as good a shape as my 245, and they want $8k to $11k for them.
