Valves- Update

I completed that valve job . I guess I just wanted to open and see what is there. The hushers were half gone. All the valve stem seals were in great shape. One of the new seals was little loser around the valve stem, had taken an oval shape, so used an older one. Original Volvo quality is good. The original seals were tad bigger in overall size than the erling ones. I did lap the valves before insatlling, the seats looked ok, had a sheen on them.

It looks like most of the valve spring compressors are designed for valves which are on the surface not in the hole like B230 (looks like those valves are in pushrods) . I had to rent one from Advance Auto which was again designed for those valves and then used a small piece of pipe in which I had to cut a slit so that I can slip those damn collets. The whole thing slipped many times. Just as a note to myslef the whole assembly slips less if it is used from the side where this extra ridge runs alongside the cam but still it does not sit very comfortably, it has a tendency to slip and with all that assembly lube and oil.

The collets/retainers need a lot of patience to install, I had them fallen inside the oil galley three times, Overall not bad job but needs lots of patience.
