Looks like you have covered all bases except the dreaded chewed out front cam bearing. Open valve clearance on no1 cyl 5 to 10 thou, if it then runs on that cyl cam brg has excessive clearance. With the factory clearance gear thrust pushes cam up and closes lash maklng valves ride, you will still get a compression reading at cranking speed. The babbit fatigues and drops out after many years. Regards Jack McIntyre.
