Remove the oil filler cap and have someone else turn the key to the start position (cranking the engine). While the engine is cranking look in the oil filler cap hole and see if the cam shaft is turning. If it isn't turning, congratulations it is time for a new timing belt! Fortunately, the 240 uses a non-interference engine design so the valves will not be damaged.
