The belt has almost 50K on it, and I'm planning a replacement soon. The timing of the "swishes" sounds about right, but I'll check it out later and report back. Are you saying that the noise might be coming from the tensioner? I replaced that 50K ago when I did the belt, and I wasn't planning on doing it this time. That's why I asked about the harmonic balancer, too. I'm almost tempted to replace it as a preventative measure, but buying it from the dealer is an expensive proposition. The engine has a total of about 125K on it, and it's out of a 92.
