Windshield interchange 200 1977

Goatman, here's what I know so far:

According to Turner Volvo in Sacto and ....I can't remember which of the other "mail order" dealerships I called a few weeks ago, all of the early glasses are NLA. That includes the ones with the wired in antenna, which they show part numbers for (!!). It is strange to note that most of the on-line places show the glass as available, install tomorrow, make an appt, etc etc.

The glass in the car now, which has to be replaced, carries 43R00089. This is an OEM number and doesn't cross to the aftermarket for whatever reason.

Dimensions for the early glass are listed as 25 x 57.5. Later glass is 24.2 x 57.5. Thus, about 13/64 height difference.

The glass in the car now measures over 24 1/8 and there is ample room before the cavity ends for another 1/16 or so of glass. I'm hoping my guy will brave the rain and bring over the later glass so we can do a test fit.

I can only guess that all the places showing stock are using the later glass. Sure seems like it will fit and I don't foresee a problem with the clips or moldings. We are talking about 1/32 inch more glass by the time you divide it top to bottom, over the glass I have installed now.

I'm more concerned about contour and/or corners!

Sadly, there is no clear glass, even in the later size. We must go with the tint strip at the top regardless.

DS
