Keeping the water out of the door is soooo important for preventing rust damage. It appeared that my 40 year old window scraper had shrunk with age (happens to us all) and allowed water inside right above the rusted lift. I was replacing the scraper with a new one when I found the window lift damage. Still, not so bad for a 40 year old window mechanism. That Swedish Steel is tough stuff.
