Hello All:
Thanks for the quick responses.
I replaced the universal joints and center support bearing about a year ago. I will check them again but that "whump-whump" sound is very different from this. This feels almost as if you were getting on and off the gas rhythmically.
In terms of reducing the effect, I am riding the clutch just a bit longer than usual and also revving a bit higher.
This is a standard transmission. I have new motor mounts already in hand. My understanding is that replacing the two front mounts is considerably easier than replacing the single rear one. Any insights there would be appreciated.
The rear bushings are definitely in terrible shape. That is my next major project - to rebuild the rear suspension, similar to what I did on the front three years ago.
No far-out modification - I should have said differential.
Any further insights would be appreciated. Sorry I was not more specific earlier.
Cheers,
Pooch
