Do I have to pull the transmission to replace the clutch fork? 700 1990

Sorry it took so long to reply.

I was able to "fix" the problem by JB Welding a nice thick hardened washer into the hole in the fork. I rounded off the edges of the washer with a grinder first, and scratched and etched the mating surfaces. As you know, there is pressure holding the washer in place, so the JB Weld just keeps it from shifting around.

I think this will last a long time. Next time I do the clutch, I will replace the fork.

Regards,
Paul Archibald
