740 expansion tank cap

i would like to replace the 22lb cap on my 740 with the 11lb cap used on the 240 as discussed on this board in past posts. it seems however that the 11 lb caps for the 240 do not fit the 740 expansion tank (different thread). is it just me or has anybody else run into this problem?
