I go to http://www.fcpgroton.com/category-exec/category_id/88/nm/Cooling_System_Parts/sub_top_menu_item/by_make-by_model-by_year/by_make/78/by_model/1116/by_year/43 and study the images of the three wasserpumpen they offer. The "Genuine Volvo" has a stamped steel impeller, the Hepu has the cast variety and the GMB, well, I couln't quite tell. Can you?
So I get on the horn with "Jeff" at FCP and I ask him, "Hey Jeff, what kind of impeller does that GMP pump have, open stamped steel or closed cast whatever?"
Jeff responds, (I can see his raised eyebrows and upward rolled eyes.) "I've been asked many questions, but never that one, but it looks to me like stamped, just like the genuine Volvo one."
"OK" I say, "send me the GMB", and I proceed to remove the old pump.
Well, lo and behold, when the genuine Volvo, original from day one, "vattenpump"
reveals its innards, it proves to contain a cast aluminum, closed impeller. BTW, the pump still looks good, the leak was in the gasket.
Now I'm really getting intrigued: what will I find inside the GMB when it gets here? It did this morning, and here's what I found.

Oh, and the GMBs now come from Thailand; alas, not packed in lemon grass.
