I just bought a 67 Volvo 122s Amazon. Body is beat up, but rust free. Runs well and was only $500. I'm happy with it.
Only problem I have is that it didn't come with a key. I have to start it with a phillips head screw driver. PO said the key broke off in the tumbler and he didn't know how to remove it so he drilled it out. So no tumbler and the sleeve that the tumbler fits into is pretty banged up. When I bought it, I figured it wouldn't be to hard change out the ignition switch but looking under the dash (and under the hood) it seems that the ignition switch is hard wired to the coil.
I see a couple places sell the tumbler for about $100 but I can't seem to find the whole ingition switch set up. Any leads?
Does the switch and coil come out as one unit?
Is there a way to wire an after market switch in it's place?
Thanks,
Joel
(ok,now that it's cooling down outside, I'm going to go change a trans coolant line on my 240)
