Symptoms: When I start the engine cold, after putting it in gear, it sputters for a moment and then surges before settling into a normal idle. Sometimes the sputtering will cause it to die. Also, when the gas tank is low (below half) it takes an inordinate number of times turning over before the engine will fire, often requiring several tries. The lower the gas level, the more difficult the start.
Self-diagnosis codes:
2-3-1 Fuel system compensating for rich or lean air/fuel mixture at cruise.
2-2-1 Fuel system compensating for extremely rich or lean air/fuel mixture at cruise.
2-3-2 Fuel system compensating for rich or lean air/fuel mixture at idle.
I'm not sure what my nest move is. Obviously something in the fuel system isn't right. But is it lean or rich? How can I tell? Are there multiple issues going on? And how do I fox it?
