I had the same similar symptoms as you describe and it turned out the the Regina pump had a corroded electrical connector at the base of the pump. Another pump from the Pick N Pull (=The Man's Mall) with good connections has solved the problem. I put in a new pump and rubber gasket for 'Justin Case'.
No problemas!!
