Raidman, it was a brand new pump I put in. It came with a plug-in pigtail connector I soldered to the existing leads. Just to compare, I measured the resistance at the harness connector and the new pump was about 1.2 ohms, whereas the old pump at the terminals was 2.5 to 5 ohms, depending on how I shook it. Besides, the symptoms just before and after I changed the pump were similar, so I don't believe it's the pump.
