I still don't think the harmonic balancer is removed when doing a timing belt. The timing belt slips over the HB. I must admit I don't know for sure, I had my mechanic install a used one on my car, the cost was minimal, while labor for a timing belt is much more.

I just want to clarify the physical logistics of the HB replacement.
