I tried one more time to get the pump going, I rigged up a large coffee can with a soldered on brass fitting that would accept a fuel line. Then used a battery charger as a power source, plugged into a multi outlet strip with a switch so I wouldn't have to have an arc near the gas. Filled up the temporary gas tank and switched on the pump until I got all the air out of the line and it started working. Next step I'll put it back on the car but use the coffee/gas can just to see if I can get it to start.
Thanks for the help, I really didn't want to lay out $200 for a new pump, that was the cheapest, correct FP available, $600 for an OEM pump. Ridiculous.
