91 240 quits at light

Do you own a Volvo 240 service manual? A Bentley Bible?

Try researching brickboard for article using words describing similar systems.

I'd have to write a small mint in well-chosen words in some speculation to even begin to point you in the right direction.

Also, please reference the http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/ for problems like yours.

Specifically, have you checked the OBD-1 systems for set fault codes in the Bosch LH-Jetronic and the Bosch EZK ignition? Please see (http://www.brickboard.com/FAQ/700-900/EngineOBDCodes.htm). Perform the test in both sockets two and six until you have encountered all set codes.

There exist other causes. Please research brickboard first, the Internet, and perhaps turbobricks.

If you are not so electromechanically literate, please buy a Bentley Bible for Volvo 240. The Bentley explains some context and theory around the systems you may or may not be causing the symptoms you are encountering. The Haynes service manuals as well as Chilton do the same, yet not as well, and have glaring omissions and inaccuracies.

If you are electromechanically literate, and I doubt you are, as you do not understand how an ignition system works by feeding the HT ignition coil electrical pulses, do your research, get a Bentley manual for Volvo 240, and learn.

Read up on the OBD-1 fault code meanings. That may put you in some direction.

Questions?

cheers,

Not the Shell Answer Man.
