I did a compression test this morning 120, 100, 105, 98. Added a little oil to each of the cylinders. Still no start. Shot some starter fluid into manifold and the engine wanted to start but still nothing. Tried the starter fluid two more times and she fired right up! I had to keep the throttle open initially, but it was ready to settle into a decent idle before I shut it down having no coolant in the system. It was so satisfying to hear that engine roar to life, sounds great too. Guess it needed the cobwebs shaken out? So now it's on to the cooling system.
It's nice to see I did set the timing correctly. I was starting to wonder ...
Thanks to everyone who helped me through this.
