Paul your saying to jump the 123 to the E curve, Ill try it... And Paul how is it you know this motor will only make 125 HP?
125HP is what the carburettors flow & I'm talking about DIN HP. I would put new NGK BP7HS plugs in it, set the 123 to E curve, set idle timing to 10° which should max out at 34° when you give it a quick flick of the throttle & forget about the ignition assuming good leads, etc. Did you get info on what to set the tappets to? I believe they should be .018" & .020"
