getting main fuel pump line to not leak

Good morning Tony,

It could be that the pump evolved between 1982 and 1989. My pump, going from rear to front has the pump body, copper washer, the 'jet', copper washer, banjo fitting, copper washer, large 19mm nut.

The 'jet' is about an inch long with threads at either end and a 17mm hexagon 'gripper' in its mid-section. The shorter end threads into the pump body. The longer end [which has four holes perpendicular to each other to allow gas flow] takes the 19mm large nut. This nut crushes the copper washers around the banjo fitting.

Perhaps the pump comes originally with the 'jet' in place.
