"The pumps definitely don't work."
• Is that based on the 6-4 fuse jumper test?
no, I took the pumps out and checked them, they were both shot. both replaced now. the fuse test works now
"There's so many problems with this car I'm wondering how the second through 5th burnout could have happened since they'd all ground it but the car would have stopped running at the first one."
• I don't understand "second through 5th burnout" or "they'd all ground it".
"grounding" and the various burnouts are mechanical or electrical problems fatal (to the car) that would make it inoperable. sorry, I try to condense communication, sometimes it gets blurry (did I do it again?)
The ignition switch had a bad connection to the starter. I replaced the fuel relay and tested the wiring, the blue-green wire should ground to make the relay work, but doesn't. I posted the wiring question to various forums (yours is by far the best answer on any forum by the way), and deciphered the schematic in the back of Haynes manuel, it also said the blue-green wire grounded through the ignition control computer. The car also once had the front end of the drive shaft come loose which knocked the bottom of the shift lever box in the cab out of alignment so the shift neutral switch didn't work. That should have kept the other problems from ever developing, though they might be the result of just sitting unused for 11 years. The previous owner hadn't worked on it and the owner before him (unknown guy) had removed the MAF and engine computer, it looks like a new distributor cap too. I'm still uncovering new surprises.
are there other computer part numbers that worK? I saw these : 8111230, 1346107, 3517641, but they might be troll baloney.
