clutch problem? 444-544

When I 1st start driving my car & put it in 1st gear, all is ok. However, when my car warms up I have some difficulty engaging 1st gear t traffic lights i.e. engaging 1st gear seems to require more throttle & 1st gear seems to engage at the very top of the pedal, resulting in a bucking sensation.
Any ideas as to what causes this & how I might fix this? Is my clutch worn out?
