1986 Starter 700

there is no permanent gear reduction at all nor gear reduction on any volvo. someone's catalog is confused.

there is a permanent magnet starter. completely interchangable with the usual field wound style. the perm. magnets styles are smaller in diameter and don't like to be hit with anything. the glue beaks and the magnets come off the housing and jam the starter. hence the sticker, do not strike. examples below-

note they are the same sr37x from bosch. just order 1 and make sure the ears are threaded. there may be some unthreaded 1s out there which means longer bolts and longer arms to hold the nuts with a wrench. good luck, chuck.
