Regarding the booster 140-160

Early 240s had a large "pancake" booster. When mine went, I found that the newer ball shaped boosters fit.

So if the 140 booster is the same as the early 240 booster, you should be able to switch in a newer 240 booster from a scrap car. They're easy to remove (no special tools needed) and install, if your body is up to it.
