Regarding the booster and checking system !! 140-160

All new reproduction brake boosters with new check valves are available for $300.00, but they aren't made exactly the same as the check valve location is different. I have sold one of the repros brake boosters and so far no problems. Back then the price was almost $600.00, so the price has come down by almost half.

But I prefer to have the old boosters rebuilt mostly because I trust my rebuilder.

AFAIK, every brake booster they have done for me and my customers are still working and that goes back over 10 years.

The cost for rebuilding is $350.00 which includes powder coating. However, you don't get a new vacuum check valve with the rebuilt boosters as they are no longer easily available new. Most of the time, your old vacuum check valve is still work, but I have some good used ones if needed.

The repros brake boosters are made in China and that does not automatically mean they are inferior, but when it comes to a brake parts, I don't easily throw my loyalty towards reproduction parts.

I have had problems with aftermarket wheel cylinders and recently with aftermarket brake masters. The wheel cylinders would not fit onto the backing plate at all and the wrong residual pressure check valves are being installed on the brake masters.

Supposedly the wheel cylinder issue has been addressed, but I am still trying to get the brake master issue corrected. Currently, I have to buy and install a rebuild kit with the correct residual pressure check valve to make the brake master work properly.
