Volvo Brake Disc

hi onkel - want to call on your vast experience with volvo 240 brakes. first since my 245 92 needs rear pads- thin but not grinding the rotors yet , im thinking now would be a good time to inspect the emergency brake system and shoes inside the drum. to do that i have to unbolt the calipers and put them slightly up and back and tie them to the coil spring. word here is you can do this carefully. have you ever done it? dont want to disconnect the metal line(risk of seized line and resultant clusterf@#!k).second when you use a screwdriver against the old brake pad to push in the piston so the new pad will clear , does this have any effect on the abs system . heard it takes special tools, shysters and a mortgage to fix that bad boy. thanks tons onk, oldduke
