Paste And/Or Replace ??? 900

Checked. Paste was all dried out - pretty much gone. Assume paste is just where the module screws to metal base - is there also paste where metal base mounts to car ? Will re-applying paste solve problem ?? Or maybe damage has been done and I should replace module ??? Thanks.
