Emailed Quantum Mechanics and this was their response below. They are about a 45 minute drive from here. Seems like the best solution for me.

Anthony - Hi and thanks for your inquiry.

Yes, we can help you out in your dilemma.

If you bring or ship us your transmissions and/or overdrives we can inspect them and test them to see if they are functional or need work.

First we would pull the covers, magnets and filters and see what is going on inside. If there is no apparent damage visible in the inspection then the next step is testing.

We have a test bench on which we can spin them up at 1,000 RPM and go through the gears. We would also engage the overdrive and test the solenoid with our battery.

We have the proper gauges to check the internal oil pressures both in overdrive and non-overdrive.

We charge $100 per transmission to do this checking/diagnostic service.

If it turns out the transmission or overdrive needs rebuilding the $100 is applicable toward the rebuild work.
